To understand how thousands of cellular proteins are affected during growth or as a result of drug treatment or environmental stresses, technically ¬≠advanced approaches such as mass spectrometry (MS) have become essential research tools in addressing biological questions. In the Proteomics Core, state-of-the-art mass spectrometers, such as LTQ-Orbitrap Fusion, permit unprecedented sensitivity and accuracy in identifying protein sequences and their abundance. These technologies allow us  to support researchers in understanding molecular details such as protein modi fications and components of protein complexes as well as quantitative changes of cellular proteins. As with the other Cores in IIGB the Proteomics Core has been operated for more than 15-years with extensive experience and expertise that are available to all researchers to facilitate new advances in biology.
